The first STY in Northwest Pacific Ocean!
Typhoon Sinlaku became the first Super typhoon this year! According to CMA data, its intensity increases violently (from 18m/s to 68m/s in just 1 day), due to low wind sheer and high ocean temperature.
Previously, the strongest typhoon in April is typhoon Surigae in 2021 (68m/s, 905hpa). Now, CMA gives Sinlaku the same intensity as Surigae. Therefore, it is possible that Sinlaku will get the same intensity or even overcome it!
This typhoon will affect the areas around Guam and Saipan in the United States in the future, and the local regions may suffer a devastating blow. According to the knowledge I have learned about ESS, typhoons usually bring storm surges, causing widespread water pollution. The ecological environment will also be severely damaged. I hope the local people are safe!
