My Story About
Typhoon

What?
Typhoons are a type of tropical cyclone. A tropical cyclone is a low-pressure vortex with a warm core structure that forms over the tropical or subtropical ocean, constituting a powerful and deep-rooted tropical weather system. In a broad sense, typhoons are tropical cyclones in the eastern Pacific. Specifically, in China, tropical cyclones in the northwest Pacific are categorized into six levels based on the maximum average wind power near their bases. Those with wind speeds reaching level 12 or above near the center are collectively termed typhoons.
Why?
In 2019, the super typhoon Lekima made landfall in my hometown. The TV broadcasted the location and cloud images of the typhoon every day, and the people in my hometown also used their own actions to fight against the disaster. Gradually, I became interested in typhoons and began to study them.
In 2023, my first paper on typhoons, " Why are Typhoon Paths so Complex and Changeable," was completed and recognized by professors at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology.
